Sometimes I like to send a novel over using SMS. Joking aside, with my old treo and Motorola Q, I was able to send long msg without being limited. The new pearl is preventing me from going over 160 letters. It won't even let me add any character after 160. Anyway to get around that?
Thanks in advance.

Really? That's strange because with other phones it'll send multiple SMSs to compensate. Pearl won't let me do that?

Sorry to say no. I miss it to. Other option, E-mail or BB Messenger that's assuming the other person has a BB and if not, then sms him/her and tell him/her to get off his/her can and get one
Its not a carrier limit thing one bit. Its the Pearl thats doing it. I have had other Verizon phones and they allow up to 6 pages of 160 characters at once, and do not break them up into seperate msgs.
im a bb newbie so mabey someone can explain to me what pin messaging is? and if the person on the other end isn't a bb user can you still send them?
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a unique ID given to each and every BlackBerry device. PIN messages can be sent between any BB device (and only BB devices) on any network free of carrier charges.

exactly it is the blackberry doing it. all other verizon phones I have had let you send the messages longer then 160, all it does though is count for sending 2-3 text messages and they show up on the other persons phone as multiple text messages.
Yeah, grim64131 is right. There aren't too many phones that actually allow you to receive more than 160 characters, it will split them up into multiple messages, unfortunately, you just have to manually send multiple messages.
