Hey Cat2583 i have the same phone and carrier! if you go into options you can add words to your "custom dictionary" it helps if they are peoples names or slang. at first i had the same problem, i needed to select each letter. also make sure you are spelling it right! because if you start to spell it wrong, you mite as well delete the whole word.
