I tried turning off all the connections and pulling the battery but that is not helping. the little arrows in the top right hand corner seem to be constantly going which is draining my battery and every 15 seconds or so the hour glass keeps popping up. Any ideas??

Try cleaning up the BB. You may have to much stuff in your memory. If don't have one get a memory card for the BB.

Delete all messages for starters. What 3rd party apps you have installed. And by chance what is your device memory atm?
