I have given up hope of ever getting the GPS on my brand new 8110 (off eBay) ever working. I previously purchased an 8130 (again from eBay) and would like to somehow swap the GPS and internals minus the CDMA parts if that is at all possible. Does anyone know if this could be done??
I have tried amAze but nothing. It does not seem to register with the internal GPS unit at all.
Nokia N95 I think maybe on the cards??

I had to get the initial GPS fix on my 8110 while plugged in. After that it's worked fine.

Also, the CDMA/GSM radio is integrated into the phone's chipset. You can't swap the radios.

thanks mate, I will use my car charger in an open space on the headland. After that the 8110 will go straight onto eBay along with the good condition 7100 and the near new 8130 which has the same symptons as the 8110
I'll reply with my results soon..
