    It seems kinda of stupid that you have to have a data plan in order to use GPS. What happens when you don't have cellphone service? The maps stop loading. Hmm....no service=no gps= LOST!!!
    Has anyone come out with a way to store maps on the MiniSD card?

    on a side note...is there any custom firmware better than the blackberry firmware?

    On a related note...

    In the manual, it says;

    Get your GPS location
    1. In the device options, click Advanced Options.
    2. Click GPS.
    3. Press the Menu key.
    4. Click Refresh GPS.
    The longitude and latitude coordinates for your current location appear.

    But there is no such option on my phone. Is this something I can remedy with software, or is it my provider's fault?

    MIne is the same. No refresh. Try starting BB maps and 'Start GPS" then clear the cache. It takes upwards of 5-10 minutes to acquire the sats and aond sometimes have to turn the device off and restart(same as refresh I think). ONce it locks on it works great and google maps is terrific. Satellite acqusition is just a bit slow. Needs a refresh program. IM on Us Cellular, FYI
