Your Pearl should already have a "saved messages" icon on the home screen. When viewing a message, just hit the menu button and chose "save" and it will put a copy in your saved messages folder. I'm not sure if you can create sub-folders in your saved messages. I don't think you can.

I found that, but you cant' reply to these messages. So, what's the use of saving them?

I did notice my "saved messages" icon is see thru. Why is this? Also "compose" icon is also see thru.

When an icon is semi-transparent, it means that it is hidden. On most icons (but but all) you can press the menu key, and choose "hide", then the icon will be shaded back. You can hide your hidden icons by pressing the menu key and unchecking "show all".
