Thats good to know. I take it that calls and messages still come thru in standby?

Oh yeah all that will come in. Just kinda puts it to sleep while you are not using it

Yes standby is better. If you use a holster most of them have a magnet that will put the bb to sleep when they are in the case, this also lets you set different alerts for in holster and out of holster.

Agreed, Standby is better and all calls, emails, and messages will still come thru and you can answer your calls without coming out of Standby. The phone comes out all by itself on incoming calls only. You must manually come out of Standby to see messages and emails.

Keyboard lock is useless on the 8130 IMO.
Use Standby and save your battery
