    I posted this problem a while back and didn't really get anywhere. So I'm posting again in hopes that someone else will know the answer

    I have a Pearl 8130 and somehow over the course of time (between updates and screwing around.. long time ago can't remember what caused it ) My BB won't allow me to change the ringer to anything else other than classic ring tone.

    I mean yes the options are there in the menu and I hear the previews, but when I save and then get someone to call me, no matter what ring tone I have selected, it'll only ring with "Classic Ring Tone"

    I've tried this on all different profiles, have no "exceptions" set and still this problem.

    The only time I can get it now to ring anything different is if I make a custom ring tone for someone specific in my address book.

    But I just want to be able to change the default ringer for everyone else!


    Any ideas?

    might have been the OS upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3.... not sure...

    I can't seem to find a copy of 4.2 to even try a downgrade to see if that was it or not..

    Ok I think I figured out what the problem is. I just don't know how to fix it! haha

    When you choose a profile and go Edit

    You are given a list

    Browser
    Calendar
    Facebook
    Level 1 Messeges

    etc etc

    On my phone I have 2 options under "Phone"

    I have

    Phone [my phone number here]

    and

    Phone [my phone number here]

    Now I only have one phone number and one "line" with this BB, but for some reason I am given 2 separate areas to change rings.

    Anyone know whats up with this?

    SOLVED:

    When making outgoing calls, my phone was set to use Line 2...

    I was told my Telus tech support that I should be using Line 1. I changed it to line 1 and bingo, works like a charm! haha

    To change between lines:

    press green answer button
    scroll up to Line1/Line2 and your phone number
    Click on and select Line 1 or Line 2
