My berry is dead. I've been trying to upgrade the os for weeks, and keep getting this error. It seems like the phone keeps rebooting when the updater tries to access the rom.

So, I wiped the device, figuring that would help. No avail! I still get the error and now have a dead phone.

I read to try using the web update from another computer. I'm waiting for it to download now. Please, if someone can, help!

If you used the Web based upgrade you can try the upgrade again after checking USB connections.

Make sure you have a direct connections and check that power disabling features are disabled.

A better approach is to download and install the support software for a manual upgrade.

There is a good chance the first upgrade made a backup before it failed. Check your Documents directory for a file named LoaderBackup-(data).IPD. If it is present you can use it to recover your data and settings.
