my blackberry wouldnt turn on so i pulled out the battery and the red light comes on and the screen stays black so then i hold the on button and a white screen comes up with the little time keeper thing and then it goes to the screen and it does a security check and then says its passes and then i can use the trackball to scroll up and down and left and right but then none of the buttons will work

anyone know what to do

first, i see this is your first post so welcome to CB.

second, how long have you had this Pearl?
do you have insurance?
have you tried to upgrade the OS recently or downloaded any betas of programs??

the phone may be defective and if so i would take it back to get a replacement.

until then keep trying battery pulls.

ive had the phone for at least 3months
unno if i have insurance on it
and no i havent tried cuz i have no idea what that is

I have the same problem with my phone, I had to take it back to Telus for a new one. Unfortunatly Telus doesn't give out lenders so you will me out of luck for about 5 days. I was on the phone to resolve the problem for about 2 hours, and they didnt seem to want to go out of there way to help me at all. Good luck with dealing with them. Happy New Year!
