The BBSmart team just sent me this email.. Looks like they got it working for the 8130 now. If you were having issues I suggest downloading it and trying it. See below for email.

This email is just to let you know that we have now released a new version of BBSmart Email Viewer that is compatible with the BlackBerry 8130 (Pearl 2).

If you currently have an older version of BBSmart Email Viewer installed, the first thing you will need to do is uninstall it. To do this, on your BlackBerry go to Options � Advanced Options � Applications and scroll down and highlight �SmartView�. Click the track wheel to bring up the menu and select �Delete� and when prompted, restart your BlackBerry.

To install the new version, please navigate to the following website using the BlackBerry Internet Browser:
