Please help! I downloaded desktop manger version 4.7 and tried to sync with my BB pearl. The new software asked me if I wanted to update my device software. I clic ked yes and it flunked out half way.
Now all I get is a white screen and the error message '507' with a strange symbol. I can't use my device at all anymore.
Does anyone know what this is? Or how I can restore my device?
Hope someone can help. Vodafone were useless/clueless.
I got as far as point 5 of the upgrade/downgrade procedure then it falls over.
During re-installation of the OS software DM cannot connect to the device ... or it does for about two seconds and then the screen goes back to the dreaded '507' error.
Looks like I screwed up big time trying to be smart and using the new 4.7 DM which is not compatible with 8310 ... but it's not clear this was the case at all.
My USB connection is touchy (I think the MicroUSB side of the cable is loose) and it disconnected during an OS upgrade causing 505 or 507 error. Rebooting did nothing. I couldn't find the post that I used to figure it out. It basically was something like:
1. connect bb to pc with DM open
2. reboot bb
3. keep clicking in DM to update software
(because during reboot, it does manage to connect for a moment)
I did however find this on how to restore a nuked bb.
ht tp : / / crack berry . com / blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
Didn't read through it completely, so I'm not sure if it is more involved than the 'click and pray' method above...but if it is, hopefully it is more reliable.
