I bought the 4GB card from Best Buy today, and lo and behold it does not work on my phone! I tried reformatting it, but it says Media card format failed.

In the Media Card options it says "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted"

Well that's no help, because I can't format it in the first place!

does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Thank you for your response! I did follow those, but the phone just doesn't recognize the card at all. I am going to try and format it on my PC, then start all over.. I will post the results later!

I'm guessing you might have gotten a faulty card. It does happen occasionally. I'd exchange it for another. SanDisk is a good card and the 4Gb should work fine in the 8130. And, FYI, the 8Gb card DOES work in the new 8130.

My 4gb Sandisk works great. As soon as i installed it, it was recognized and i was able to load a movie which played like a champ. Love this phone

What OS are you working on? It may be that - if you are using 4.5 or higher the 4GB SD should work without problems!
