I just updated my blackberry pearl 8110 to v 4.5.0.110 and suddenly the autotype will decide when it works- I have to pretend to change settings under options- language-(i.e change it to english (UK) then back to English (US) and make sure all boxes are checked over and over again under input options.

I do not hold down the SYM key either when I type-

It's really a guess and go game with it, sometimes the autotype is working aok, but then all of a sudden when i try to start a new message it just disappears and I have to fiddle around in the language menu again for a few minutes

Very time consuming problem- any solutions?

I have never experienced that symptom. Just to be clear, AutoText exchanges text in documents so words like "acn" are changed to "can".

There is a feature, SureText, that is context sensitive. In some fields, it switches to MultiTap. Passwords have to be entered that way.
