I have been looking all around on how to get AIM on my Blackberry Pearl 8130. I have been to blackberry.com/aim and other websites to use AIM but I have Verizon Wireless and it is not supported.
If I have Verizon where can I get AIM for free for my BB?
If you are VZW, you do also have the option of using the VZW chat client app which gives you access to AIM, Yahoo & MSN. Its available at http://solutions.vshop.com/vzstart/bb
However just be aware that the VZW chat client uses SMS text not data, so it could be pricey if you do not have an unlimited text plan.
Yes, I personally use JiveTalk and IMO its the best chat client out there for BB, completely worth the $20 price. I wasn't sure if the OP was looking for a free chat client app.
I use the VZW app since I have unlimited texting. But I have used JiveTalk and it is by far, a better app. The VZW app is slow to load and though it has a setting for sound and vib feedback, it does not work. As a user of both apps, I must recommend JiveTalk.
I have official AIM on my BB. all i did like the second day i had my phone was open my brower, go shop for games and applications, click on free/demo and there it is, AIM available for OTA download.
it works great too. granted i don't have a buddy list on my home screen or anything like that. but i can open or close the app while remaining signed on and recieve notifications that sound like im on my computer! i have sprint if that makes a difference.

There's no official version for Verizon. The original poster has Verizon.
I have the VZW AIM - and (unless I missed it - which is possible 2bsure) there is no 'notification' of inbound AIM messages - so it all seems lame to me. I don't use it at this time.
