I just noticed on my Pearl that on the right hand corner, it says "1xev". The key being that the xev part of it is in lower case. I'm using the out of box L theme and I swear that it used to be in all caps: "1XEV"

hey guys, im having a simmilar problem, my black berry has been showing an OFF signal for 2 days when i switch the signal back on i have full bars with 1xev (rather then 1XEV) but the signal will only stay on a up to a miniute or so sometimes only secconds this has been going on for 2 days now, its causing me to not be able to make calls or browse the internet, and i can only text in the few secconds to a miniute that the signal stays at 1xev. I have tried hard reset (taking the battery out) soft reset, and changing the connections with the settings. Nothing has changed the signal back to 1XEV, any help would be appreciated. im being Driven mad thanks.
