I have now ordered one! Yay
Once I start it up and put in my existing BlackBerry id, is that it?
Can I reload my old apps one by one or will they be there? (hoping not as I have had problems before with some on the zed).
    Thanks

You have to reload apps unless you use Link to transfer devices

That's great thanks, but my BlackBerry id will transfer I guess? Sorry for a dumb question, but the zed is my first BlackBerry phone? (plus PlayBook) .

There's an app to transfer contacts, calendar, photos and videos. 'Device Switch'. Worked well for my transfer from Z10 to Passport.

Log in with your BBID and all your apps will be in BBW, all your BBM stuff will be there. I used Backup Pro and just moved contacts and texts. May have to sideload Snap and redownload any other apps you had for Android, etc.

I also had a z10. This is what you should do, get thr z10 the way you like it. Get all of the apps you want on it. Then do a device switch.

Some apps are blocked for the passport but work just fine.
I did the device switch and it works really well.

Device switch through link did not work well for me (errors). I used the switch from device option. Try the switch from back up file method.

I ended up setting up the device from scratch. Contacts/emails sync with exchange, all media is already on the SD card and just re-downloaded the apps from BBW and Snap.

Exactly what you should do. The only problem is some apps might not be compatible with the PP and you will not see them in BBworld when you login.

I first did a device switch and it carried over a ton of bugs from my Z. Reloaded the OS and setup everything from scratch, haven't had a problem since.

I sold my z30 but am keeping my z10 for the weekend.

Nice small size when I'm not working and am at play.

I did the same thing but the Z10 never gets the sim card on the weekend. I want to bring the Passport everywhere I go. The Z10 is just for games and I stream music from it with Spotify. The Passport is just too good.

Got my passport and absolutely loving it! I love the keyboard, still make a few mistakes coming from a touchscreen, but I love it.
All the apps so far look great and Internet browsing is a joy.
Haven't tried any android apps yet, or amazon as I don't want to spoil it, as many upset the z10.
Just need my nanosim now from 3

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I need some help. I did the switch via BB Link and it could not transfer my contacts, calendar, text, email data. It transferred all app and settings, so I am sort of happy about that. My Z10 is running 10.3.1.1582 and my PP is running 10.3.1.1372, could that be the issue?

I too switched from Z10... at first it was odd going back to QWERTY keyboard... I'm not quite as fast yet as I was on the Z10... BUT, whenever I pick up my Z10, I can't believe how narrow the screen is! And how close together they virtual keys are. I've gone wide...and I won't go back!
