I just a blackberry passport for Christmas and I didn't realize that I had to get a new sim card. the z10 used a micro sim and the passport uses a nano. So none of my contacts from my sim were transferred. So here are my questions.

    1) how can i transfer my sim contacts from my z10 to my passport easily?

    2) Can I keep my old bbm pin number and use it on the new phone?

    Thanks and Merry Christmas

    1) start up your Z10 get the app contactX in bbw save to your SD card then do the same on your passport.

    2) BBM pin is attached to each device but when you sign into your new phone all your contacts and stuff will follow.

I used Backup Pro, saved everything to my micro SD card and then moved it over to the Passport and restored from the app on there.

not your PIN, which is hardware specific, but you BBID will allow you to set up BBM etc

Cut your SIM. Easy to do. Just take your time. Download templates on the net.

You can also highlight all of your contacts on the Z10 and copy them to an email account such as outlook.com (aka: hotmail). Then on your Passport do the same but copying them to your SIM there.

Buy a new nano SIM for less then $10 from your carrier. Have it activated with your existing cell number. Use BlackBerry link using Device Transfer (I did for Z30 to Passport). Everything went well including all my apps including Androids and BBM, SMS, contacts etc.

I just did the same. But in my case I went to a T-Mobile store and they gave me a new sim.

Make sure your sim contacts are showing in the Contacts app. Then use Backup Pro to backup your contacts to Dropbox, Box, Mega, SD card, or phone memory. Now you are ready to restore on the Passport. Easy!

Yes, it does, even any Android apps you sideloaded. But not Snap itself if you had that on your Z10. That has to be sideloaded again to your Passport in exactly the same way as before.

Am I being slow, I have never found a way of transferring contacts or saving them on the sim with BlackBerry?

Also does the passport take a different sim to the z10??? I was hoping to swap between them!!!

Best way if you are switching devices is saved your contacts through the cloud like Outlook.com or Gmail.

The Z10 uses a micro sim, while the Passport uses a nano sim. I switch between the Passport and Z10. You can get a Noosy nano to micro sim adaptor. Or you can just slide the nano sim into the Z10 sim slot to cover the pins.
