I don't know what's happening with my Passport SE, but since yesterday when I'm running YouTube in my browser, I can no longer have YouTube running in the background with the sound blaring, whilst I look at another app.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

Youtube changed things on their end and it affects multiple 3rd party apps and browsers on multiple OS. The short answer is you can't fix it permanently.

Some have reported temporary success by:

    Turn off block pop-up
    Clear cookie, history
    Go to youtube
    Play something
    Turn on block pop-up

Browsie does work when minimised, but only when staying in the Active Frame screen. Once you scrolll to the Hun or the apps pane, the playback stops. Same when you lock the phone. Is there anyway to bypass this?

Can confirm that the playback stops. I'm going to look into it.

What's up fellow Crackheads lol, I have found a surefire fix that will work for everyone:

    1. Go to youtube and select any video

    2. Go to the end of the URL and simply type: &app=desktop, then press enter

    3. Enjoy your BlackBerry as usual!

I have a Q10, 10.3.3.1463, and this youtube anomaly just happened to me last week.

Using this quick fix, we no longer have to go through the trouble of manually selecting desktop mode just to watch/listen to videos like we've been accustomed to before this nonsense happened.

P.S. While viewing videos in fullscreen, you might notice the controls (play/pause, fast forward/rewind, etc.) are not visible while watching. However, a cool little feature allows you to double-tap the video, where it will zoom in, and the controls will be visible again. When you are finished rewinding/fast forwarding, simply double-tap the video again to zoom it back to normal ratio again.

Long Live BB10! Jah Bless you all.

I'm glad I didn't buy Browsie cause qbrowser works great, especially with setting youtube to the homepage. My heart goes out to those who continue switching to desktop mode to enable background audio playback

I won't go sailfish as long as BB10 is usable. You can't help admire them. They do have working droid apps without google services. Will Sony force more google fangs in the OS?

Just buy YouTube Red from the Youtube Mobile Browser. It's $9.99 a month with the first month free. It was a Google thing so no more work-a-arounds probably. I just bought it and I'm back in action, playing music and multi-tasking!
