does the passport use the same micro sim as the z30 uses ? if so then ill pick up a passport to replace my z30 so i can also switch back and forth between the two.
Get a Nano to Micro Sim adapter then you can switch back and forth. That is what I am doing with my Z10 & Passport SE.

I have read threads started by people who've upgraded their PC's to Windows 10 who can no longer sync their BB10 phone.
That's incorrect. When you upgrade to Win 10 version 1607, you just need to uninstall Link, and reinstall it and sync work fine as usual.

There is a lot of miss information being spreaded like in this case, it bothers me that this happens in a BlackBerry forum. Imagine the s*it "non-blackberry" people would say if we are doing it right here...

Since BB is no longer producing OS10 updates that would match with a computer OS update I think it's safe to assume that an investment into a Passport will provide less and less returns sooner than expected.
BB is now selling new Passports for $300.00. what does that tell you?
To stay with Windows 7, it's a better OS right now anyway.

I sent a nuc request yesterday and receive it the very same day. My bb passport is now unlocked and up and running, charging and we will be kicking again together. The iphone 6s will stay in the box. Im really glad I'm back, can't believe apple has build such a product, I can't see how all these 'businessmen' are using it as it doesn't do the very basic thing - you can't add multiple attachments , you simply can't?!?! Hello?! Is that the super duper device you've build and never changed for 10 years? Unbelievable, bye bye iphone, welcome home bb!

Of course.. why not.. this one is a beautifully crafted hardware ever by BlackBerry. I already have a Passport with me. But I do have plans to add Silver addition as well. I wish if BlackBerry would launch Passport 2.

I just ordered my last BB phone a Passport SE. I had Q10, now Z30 with satisfaction. Honestly I love the Z30, so why move to Passport? Just want it.
I don't like android, after BB 10 simplicity, ergonomic, I feel wandering in a jungle, got lost, got headache. Well of course not that bad, but I feel this way every time when I pick up an android phone.
I think the priv is the last BB phone, and the company want a huge, last firework. Priv want to do everything, and it can, but everything with compromise.
Of course one day I move to android (or iOS), I think I can adapt within few days, and in time won't miss the BB OS. But I feel sorry that such a great combination of harware (BB phones) and software (BB OS) will extinct from the market to give her place in many aspects inferior, all-around tool like android phones.

What about those that don't use WA? Should they not buy the Passport because an app doesn't work?

I believe it will. WA will apparently block the BB10 app from connecting. They can do that.

As a phone, I would use one again. It is an excellent communications device (outside of the proximity sensor issues). As a device to use for multimedia, not so much. Today's phones are app driven; and that's where the passport (or any bb10 device for matter) falls short. Even the updates for it are few and far between.

Buying a Passport is not an investment for the future. It is an investment in nostalgia.

I need GPS app, dictionary, viber, calculator, dropbox, music player, document viewer, fast browser, calendar, mobile bank app, and other basic apps. I use my phone most of web browsing, communicaton, sometimes navigation, music player, take picture when I don't have my camera. And I desire good screen, tank build quality, good battery time.
Not everybody need a multimedia, entertainment center in smartphone.

Passport fits my use case almost perfectly (heavy on the communications and web-searches), so I would buy one today. In fact, I've got a perfectly good Zenfone 2 Laser sitting here with a SIM in it (bought it to tide me over when my last Passport got water damaged), and since I got this new Passport I've hardly touched the android.

    I disagree..

I'm not app driven, as you have pointed out in your post, so the Passport suit my needs perfectly (again as stated in your post regarding it's advantages).

BUT, what I've just explained is that, " to each their own and it's just not possible nor is it right to cast a one size fits all approach towards mobile phone users! "

Tried one out when they first were available. Couldn't justify the price. Now for $299 I'll feel better about it.

Have to admit part of it is for nostalgia, but it will also do everything I need.

My 6+ is still available if I need it....
