Absolutely. The Passport is the best mobile device I've used. Nothing else even comes close.

I look forward to the Passport 2, in whatever form it takes. BlackBerry knocked it out of the park with this one.

Yes. The phone is still very relevant AND I have even more people now than ever asking me about this 'new' model BlackBerry Passport I am using.

LOL the look on their face when I tell them I got it last November a few weeks AFTER it was launched!

Betcha can't name a single product that has been entered to win a Red Dot and didn't win one. That's because Red Dot is a joke. The only companies who are eligible to win are the ones that have paid tens of thousands of dollars to be in the running. It costs money to enter a product, it then costs even more money to have the product inspected, judged and photographed. On top of all that, you have to agree to pay for the "winner's package" before you can even enter your product. That's right, if you win a Red Dot, you win the honor of paying Red Dot even more money on top of the tens of thousands of dollars you've already paid them for entering, inspecting, judging and photographing your product. Why would Red Dot have any losers? They would be turning away thousands of dollars for every product that didn't win an award. You literally are required to pay for your Red Dot award. That kind of says it all.

Red Dot is nothing but a form of paid advertising. Companies pay Red Dot a lot of money so that they can make the claim that their product is an award winning design. I mean look at how many BlackBerry products have those awards. Hasn't exactly helped them much, but it is one of the very few things BlackBerry is willing to do when it comes to advertising.

Red Dot's website lists all of the fees.

Would you still buy a Passport today?-screenshot_2015-04-25-20-33-55.png

That's directly from their site. Like I said, you literally have to pay for the Red Dot Award. No company is gave a Red Dot, they all have to buy it.

    EDIT:

BTW, I'm not saying that the Passport isn't a good design or isn't a good product. I'm just pointing out how meaningless Red Dot awards are.

If a slider was on the (near) horizon, I'd be tempted to wait, but in the absence of a slider, I'd get another Passport in a heartbeat -- a red one!

If I knew what I now know about the slow third party (Indonesian, and thick eastern accented) customer service people with English Learning issues then no. If I knew about the long wait times for scheduled delivery no. But most of all if I had seen the invoice accidentally left in my RMA box by someone that showed me the true retail cost of the Passport (only $320.00), then a healthy No ! would be exclaimed. This is their valuation of a new device as mine was less than a month old when sent back. Would you still buy a Passport today?-img_20150425_160005_edit.jpg

Now is probably the best time to get it. The phone been for awhile and most of bugs and kinks is out. Especially with the new OS updates rolling out. I always wait a few months on any new product. Even when the passport 2 comes out, it's going to have a few issues just like any new device. By that time, my passport will be running at optimal speed

Yes I would buy again. I love the phone and the OS but when I first got it alot of android apps worked well and in time alot of the apps required updates and stopped working or needed google play services so im constantly trying to patch apps and ive lost some apps all together which is getting frustrating. I love the idea with the android runtime, i guess I just wish there was some better solution there as its always a pain anytime an app requires an update or I have to uninstall and reinstall and the newer version just doesnt work.

I find this kind of funny. Actually bought a Leap to replace my wife's Z10. It arrived yesterday. A decent device for what it is, and shipped with 10.3.1

Could not hold out any longer for my Passport. I'm on ATT, so I wanted to check out SQW100-3. Instead I ordered my Passport today from shopblackberry.com . Spring Sale is going on and they are shipping at $549.99 Should be here Tuesday or so.
Damn! I paid $520 shipped in November 2014, didn't realize the price is still above what I paid.

With the Z30 still selling at $229 and the Passport at $549... I think I'd go Z30 > Passport, and wait until more info about the Slider surfaces, or possibly a Passport 2 or Classic 2 announcement.

    I think for $549, I'd pick up two Z30s, or a Z30 and a Leap.
You make a good argument. Though amoled tech is kind of the pits if you ask me (in its current form...if it were improved I could like it).

Oh my goodness yes! I'd buy a passport in a flash if I had the cash. I *love* how the red one looks, so nice! Or I'd get a Black one. I've never been a fan of white phones for some reason, but the Passport looks great no matter what colour.

The Passport wasn't picked up by any of the carriers over here, and I just can't seem to scrape up the cash to buy one outright from overseas or from an importer here, so I'll probably never get one. The joys of being a student.

I'm lucky enough to have a Q10 though, and I adore it. It's the best phone I've ever had.
