yes I would buy a Passport and would prefer it had no Amazon App store or Android Runtime, I use my Q10 with only Blackberry Apps and it has no Amazon App store, it does everything I need, probably will buy one now if it's the last BB10 phone.

Sure I buy bb10 phones for productivity. Get an android tablet and an iPad for apps.

The android apps just gave me games that others were playing. Didn't last long. That's it! So yes!

My decision to buy a Passport had absolutely nothing to do with Android apps. Well, maybe that isn't entirely true if you consider that I bought a BlackBerry partially because it was NOT an Android.

I would. Personally I use an iPad and my 6Plus for the apps that everyone claims they "need".

My Passport is pretty much all about communication.

If Kindle makes the Web version available on the Passport Web browser and Groove does the same, then I can do without Android apps (my bank account is accessible via the browser so I don't need their app per se). Then I'd buy the Passport without having access to Android apps.

My Passport can run Android apps? Whaaaaat?

Seriously, When I fist switched out my 9930 to go to an HTC. I tried all the cool new shiny, fancy apps. Liked the widgets and the Play Store. Camera was great and the the customization was endless. However, that all got tired after a few years.

Since January, I've returned to Blackberry and have been mostly happy. First off, I love having real battery life and not have to worry if I can make it through the day. Second, fluidity is way better then on any Android device I've used.

Apps- While it's awesome to have the latest and greatest apps at our disposal. I would be happy with the ones that clearly make sense on the BB platform. Financial, banking, news, great mapping, weather any app regarding sales and a plethora a calculator just to name a few (I'll let you guys fill in your needed apps). Also, social media apps are now used to promote business as well as keeping contact with friends and loved ones. All of these apps should be readily available and work flawlessly. There wouldn't be a need for Android apps on Blackberry if they had gotten development right in the first place.

In the case of Blackberry, "less is more, done right" could have made a major impact.

    BTW- Blackberry blend is awesome!

I would buy Passport IF ONLY they release the same exact AT&T design to europe! I don't even like the silver edition nor the original one, that's why I bought Classic!

It has android app but no google service play support. Google play support undermining your privacy and doesn't run under blackberry 10. Google service purpose two thing and that's getting to know what you doing with an app and more. Second to protect there own market from competitors like CM, Tizen and and Android runtime for BlackBerry.

All other apps works fine fore me

The AT&T variant of the Passport is available on eBay now at a pretty reasonable price and can be unlocked.

maybe.... but add to the "reasonable price" the amount for the import taxes, and will not be that cheap

That's assuming they bought it because of Android apps.

People do not buy BlackBerry devices because of Android apps. That's either a bonus or a nuisance. NOT a selling point.

And specially not for the Passport.
So what was your answer to this question?

I say Yes you say no...

no I would not have bought the passport if it didn't have android apps...
but on the other side, I did not buy an android phone because I wanted a keyboard...

so, I was probably waiting for something like Priv, except I don't like slider builds

Don't have a passport but I would not have got a Z30 if the runtime was not there.

I will not buy another BlackBerry with or without it if it's using bb10.
