He's referring to the fact that Apple headphones used to do a heck of a lot more when used with a BlackBerry device.

No, software only allows for pause. No forward nor back options.

I haven't tested with my Bose headphones in a while. But they used to work great with my Z30.

But I've been told it's a actual hardware problem with the passport.

This Jabra Clipper Bluetooth headset works well in Passport. You can pause, forward, rewind & play music stored in your Passport... sound is great too!

I remember reading on here a while back that the mother board and output jack is different and cannot support IOS made hardwire headsets. I've also tried android versions as well and none work. Oddly IOS headsets worked on the classic.

Sorry, I just realised that the OP is looking for a 'wired' headphone.

Anyway, if someone is looking for a good bluetooth headphone, the Jabra Clipper Bluetooth headset is a good choice.

I have sets of Bluetooth LG Infinim and Nokia BH 21 works great. But wired sets have really great sound handling for music and would like to avoid having to take passport out from pocket if I want to forward or rewind. All other wired sets work with android and windows phone so not sure why Blackberry complicated this bit

My bt headset is the jaybird in ear, headsets and works like a charm.it holds a charge for a while and easy to wear. The they are designed for working out but is awesome as a standalone bluetooth headset!
