    HI all,

Will this kit work so I can swap sim card from my Passport to my Z30?

Any suggestions for me on this topic/

It'll work.. just be hella careful you don't pull the SIM pins off when swapping SIM's in and out. I can't speak to the quality of those ones but you should try and buy high-quality ones that are made of good plastic. Flimsy ones increase the chance of them screwing up your device.

And DON'T put an empty SIM adapter into a SIM slot. Like. Ever.

That'll definitely rip out some pins.

    I've used this one...

    Amazon Prime:

This was the one that was also recommended by a few other forum members here. Works perfectly.

Sooo... what happens if you put an empty SIM tray in a device? I'm assuming it goes crazy and/or somehow bricks the phone from your comments lol. Never tried that... and won't!

Beware sim adapters. Especially used with the Z30. I would actually recommend against it. If you need to switch, go to your carrier and get the correct size sim.

If you must use an adapter, be extremely careful.

The problem caused by inserting an empty SIM adapter in a spring loaded SIM slot is the connection pins go up into the hole the smaller card fits into. When you pull the adapter out it destroys the pins.

The older SIM card style holders that are a 'door' type don't have this issue.

I made that mistake on my Nokia C3-01 thinking it was a good place to keep it so I didn't lose the adapter...I ended up having to disassemble the phone to get it out without damaging anything.

Yup, luckily I've never done this, but if I thought about it a little more it actually seems like an easy way to store and not lose it. Never knew this was such an issue though.

I have had sim card accidents several times on my 9360. Just shoving it in and the card slips out but the holder goes in. In each case i had to wait til i knew i could be slow and methodical. I would tug the holder by pushing and dragging with the tip of a pin or pointy knife, a little at a time, interspersed with pushing down on the sim card pins one at a time with a ballpoint pen. The adapter was the kind with a thin transparent plastic wall so you could see what you were doing.

Never put sim adapters in while you are in a hurry. Always hold the phone upside down over your head and look up.

Have some spare sim adapters in case you have to wreck some ; )

I saw a recommendation for simdevil on here, but as someone who has bought and tried that version, DON'T DO IT. Seriously. The outside is completely flush, so it's impossible to take it out again! You need an adapter with a little tab on it so you can grab with your fingernail, like Saapni brand.
Just don't wanna see someone else struggling!

Interesting... I know I'm not alone in using simdevil adapters since I originally asked here and they've been fine for me. This is why I recommended simdevil along with another member here. I'll have to take a look at saapni if it is that much better/easier. Don't really struggle much with simdevil and have had zero issues so anything better would be a bonus.

Oh I see. Well to each his own, I don't have a Z30 so I'm not sure if it's easier to take the sim out than with the Q10 or not, would just hate to see someone else have a jammed sim! I tried the simdevil adapter for my LG G3 and it was rather difficult to get out again because the lack of tab at the end to pull with. But every phones sim tray is different I spose
