I don't know what frequency range the BB Passport supports. I just want to make sure there won't be any problem of frequency range and that it will work if I buy a new sim card in the States.

    Give thanks to Raino.
You'll need to find your model #.

Since there's essentially one model of the Passport, it sure will work in the US. Just get a SIM card from a GSM carrier. Not only will you have a relatively unique phone (the Passport,) you'll have a more unique sub-variant--an AZERTY Passport!
