Buying an iphone won't solve your problem.

It's probably the hardware. Maybe get another Passport. The one you got might be malfunctioning.

I've had issues with WiFi before. It didn't seem to get an ip while my android phone could connect normally on the same network. Manually setting up the connection would work. once I am connected I get a better connection than any of the other phones around.

I can imagine how frustrating that must be. Any fix/update on this issue so far? I would suggest it's an issue with that particular unit have no connect issues I can recall with my PPSE.

I recall having connect issues (Z10+Z30) at some rest stops while driving in the NE US a couple years ago. A backup android was able to connect. Certificate issue seemed to be the problem. These no longer seem an issue on recent drives.

Hey there, I also travel a lot and use Wifis a lot. My girlfriend has an IPhone 5 and has far more problems with connectivity to Wifis (loosing connection, poor quality...).

So far for me (Passport) no problems at all. Could sometimes connect a lil faster.

Where is this coming from? I had 5 BlackBerry phones and never had a problem with wi-fi. If you have a problem with a device you check it out... fix it not ditch the entire brand.
