I use pin messaging all the time so who made the decision not to include it with the Passport. I am running the last official update of OS 10.3.0.903. Why would BB product dev. exclude it form Passport when it has always made BB different from all other phones????

Those in the know---are there any plans to include it in Passport?

I don't think PIN messaging has been removed. Because I can see the option on my Q10 running latest leak 10.3.1.1154

Why no pin messaging in Passport w/ OS 10.3.0.903?-img_20141214_192058.png

hi, this probably doesn't help a lot, but I'm afraid I don't see what you are seeing - Pin messaging is still in the Passport.

I've just gone in on my hub, pressed compose, and selected the option 'pin message' at the very bottom. I'm on the last official release from my carrier, OS 10.3.0.1418, and I don't see what you are describing I'm afraid. I think you must have a specific problem with your passport, unless it was not put back in until my release - I don't think that is the case though. Have you considered doing a full wipe and seeing if it returns it? I don't know if anyone else knows this one, but could it be something your carrier blocks? Can't see how, but I'm more thinking aloud tbh.

Could somebody please explain PIN messages?
I recall they'd still go through even if there's no cellular coverage or something or that they are extra secure because it's direct device-to-device communication? Cheers!

It's device to device. At work when someone returns a Blackberry device, we have to send it out to get "re-pinned" so it gets a new PIN. Since the PIN is unique to each device, the next user of the phone will have the same PIN unless it gets sent out. It's a security issue, so user 2 won't get user 1's PIN messages.
