My phone started acting up after i shut it off and turned it back on. i wasn't able to read any of the texts i was receiving. so after resetting it and giving it some time to work itself out, nothing changed. i proceeded to do a security wipe, the wipe has now been going on or 26 hours and im at 98%. it started quick and was moving along nice but became slower and slower with time.... help?

No need for security wipe next time. Reload your OS without a restore from back up using BlackBerry link. I have read many threads with members having the same issue as you are having. Try rebooting the phone with the volume up and down keys for 15 seconds. Good luck.

I had the same problem with my OG. Had to run an autoloader to get it fixed. Kept getting stuck at 98%.

The more apps and data you have, the longer a security wipe takes.

If you first delete as many apps you can, then security wipe is much quicker!

I agree with you. I always delete all my apps before wiping the device. It only takes about 10 minutes to restore the phone to factory settings.
