    Hi All,
I am using my blackberry passport since over a month now but am facing this strange issue after every 2 to 3 days randomly.
If the passport is left idle it does not receive calls till it is restarted or a call is initiated from the device, though sms and emails are being received.
I have requested the service provider as well, who have refreshed my number from the NOC but the issue persists.

Would be grateful if anyone could support on this.

    Thanks in advance

Hi all, anyone with a solution please, noting that toggling parental controls on and off did not resolve the issue.
    Thanks

I would restore the device (wipe). Also, turn off advanced functions maybe? I had funny things happen in my pocket with that functionality on.

Advanced interactions are already turned off, tried doing a lot of these tricks. It's just so random that all of a sudden the calls cannot be received, a simple restart would restore back the functionality.
I believe this should be a SW problem, or this is what I hope for as the device functions normally otherwise.

Since calls are associated with Sim card. I would turn off device. Remove sim card. Clean sim card. Insert and restart. See what happens. Or get a new sim card. Good luck

If it is a sim card contact issue you can eject the card and the push the back side of the sim card holder in towards the phone to ensure a better seat. When I switched from a cut microsim (slightly thicker) to a true nanosim my passport wouldn't even recognize the new card until I did this.

Agreed sounds like a sim card issue, id start with perhaps the sim card and check the call provisioning! Maybe pop into a dealer where they vcanhelp you out!

Please consider sometimes there are carrier issues. Don't look too much into it being a software or hardware issue. I'm not a technician but I understand that when a tower's capacity is reached it will not pass calls and a restart will search for available service. My suggestion would be to play with 4G, LTE, 3G settings to find best reliability.

Switch off 4G. I do not know where you live but in Germany there is no voice service on 4G. If a call comes in and the device is on 4G it has to fall down / switch to 3G for accepting the call. Sometime this does not work properly and you miss the call.
