I rely heavily on hotspots and have never had issues with speed on my iPhone or previous samsung.... now when I try on my passport the speed is ridiculously slow. The speed on the actual phone is fine. It's not a carrier issue as the iPhone works very fast on hotspot. Very annoying.

I don't think there is a solution for this. Might want to stick to iPhone if that's the case.

    Try this:
The device that you are connecting to BlackBerry Hotspot, go to wifi and put a manual primary dns server, 4.2.2.2,
    Secondary dns: 4.2.2.3
It should work fine in that way,,,

You really need to use the Hotspot? I'm using Tethering and it is very fast. On my Laptop.
