It would be nice if we could do that... Find a set and purchase it directly from Blackberry!

I guess, they are getting more by passing it to a third party retailers than selling it directly - not to mention that it is a headache process and need full time resources...

They just need an efficient system. Blackberry has engineers.. why not use them to build a system/software that would accept orders from bbworld and have it straight shipped from a centralize warehouse?

Perhaps the Amazon deal will provide for this later on. Who knows?

It may seem as simple as "choose you like and place an order", "pay for your order" and "BlackBerry delivers your product"...

There is a logistic system behind that BlackBerry must establish and continually support. Verification of payment using credit card is the first headache, tracking of delivery, confirmation of receipt, complains and return items, change or refunds are other headaches - not to mention that you are dealing globally...

I believe, with the current status quo of BlackBerry, it is still "safer" for them to deal with third parties retailers and telecom companies until they established themselves as they used to be...

The more you improve the direct buy option the more backlash you could get from the third party retailers. However it very well may be worth the risk, since these retailers don't seem to be helping the brand at all.

They actually use third party companies for order fulfillment. Shop BlackBerry US orders are processed and fulfilled by Digital River for example (who are horrible to deal with IMO).

Using Digital River as Blackberry fulfillment is definitely a drag for the reputation of Blackberry. I wish BB can reconsider their choice.
