I have a Passport v10.3.1. Using Snap to install several campground apps (Passport America, Good Sam, etc.). They seem to install properly but give me this error message "Please update Google Maps." I have Google Maps v9.4.0 (#904011113) installed and it seems to be functioning properly... although the "Sign in" button does not cause any action other than to disappear.

    What am I doing wrong?.

You require Google play services for both issues to go away.

Google Play services do NOT work on BlackBerry devices.

When you really want to fix the issue, you need to modify the apk.

I am using an older version of Google maps. Version 7.6.1. Works fine for GPS, streetview, etc. I think it was the version right before they demanded you log into your Google account. Anyway, hope that helps.

I probably have the apk in a dropbox folder if you want it.

He won't be the only one who will want it, if you are willing to share.

Thank you! I downloaded the older version. However, my issue with GMap on PassPort remains: it asks to turn on location services and GPS, even though it is on.

Thank you for sharing this. It's early and haven't had my prerequisite caffeine yet. I'll give it a try after a gallon and report back.

Merboy6969, GMaps is working fine. Even Street View works great. In fact SV held a surprise. When I checked my street the view of the house I rent was taken just a year ago or less. I could tell by what I saw on the back deck.
Big thanks for helping us out.

That didn't work. After uninstalling the current Google Maps and installing v1.7.601.113 (from the above APK), the KOA app simply begins to start and then closes. The Good Sam App does the same as before -- the message: "Please update Google Maps" with a "Update" bar. Clicking on that minimizes the App.

Why pay $5 for an app that runs off of Google Maps when you can actually just use Google Maps? (And the Blackberry Maps app is an embarrassment.) I'm running 9.4.0 and it works perfectly. When I installed the patched version of Google Play Services, it didn't let me sign in on Google Maps. But I was able to log in once I deleted GPServices.

My issue was not with Google Maps, per se. It was with the interface between the Apps that used Gmaps, i.e., Good Sam Campgrounds, KOA Campgrounds, etc.

You are incorrect. You can have Google Play services run just fine on the Passport.
Do a search before you make blanket statements on what runs or doesn't run.

Yeah, I have no other programs installed with Snap not run properly. Only those that use Google Maps.
