I share contacts all the time.
HOW are you trying to share the contact? Email, NFC, text, WhatsApp, something else?
Yesterday I shared a contact with my lodger via WhatsApp - took about 5 seconds to do - and then he was able to order his kebab whilst he was on the train.....
