Personally I think that BlackBerry send to us an update which originally is for the Classic. I come with this conclusion because when I unlock the Passport it shows the first activeframe highlighted (selected). This doesn't make sense for Passport since we don't have the trackpad to navigate through activeframe, or icons.

    What do you think?

It is weird...and I just noticed it now that you mention it.

But I'm not sure it means it's for the Classic.

Why BlackBerry send to us (Passport) an update which was for Classic?-img_20150220_013309.png

I tried locking it and repeating a few times and it seems to just happen the first time.. I can't get it to go blue again.

I had that too when my Passport first booted up. It goes away really fast though, for me at least.

Saw that too. Makes sense this would be a Classic thing.

.1581 should be for the passport. Wondering if the bugs are fixed on that version.

You can get it back by pressing the return key. Hit return again and it'll open the selected app. But there seems to be no way changing the selection. Even if it is build for the classic trackpad, i would not mind if they would give us the keys ijkl on the passport for changing the selection.

Yup just noticed this as well. I guess they may be readying the Passport keyboard to act as a track pad? Hit enter, first app gets highlighted then swipe the keyboard to reach the desired app.

F*** the volume on the Device after this Update. Feel like BlackBerry has just pushed a Downgrade to many of Passport devices.

I would like the ability to use the keyboard as a trackpad to select messages, frames and icons.

I have not had the active frame bug. Idk what os version you guys got, but I have not had anything highlighted like that. I've tried to replicate but I can't.

Just see it too! You hit the ''return '' key and it highlights in blue the first opened app, then hit the key again and it opens the app!

Oh I didn't know about this until I read how you can bring out that blue selection. Hmmm... I guess it was just an added feature (trying to be positive) that you can select to open the first active frame, perhaps your most used app that you rarely close. This makes ability to arrange frames useful.

But again, if this feature has to be optimized, it should give also the option to move around and select other active frames. Doesn't bother me anyway.

Its not the question to bother or not, but I was wondering how is possible to sent update same os for 2 different models.

How sure are you that it's for the Classic?
Is it not possible to bring some feature like that really intended for the Passport?

We can only make guesses for now, since this feature has to be optimized to really call it a "feature". At least for now, you can open the first app without touching the screen.

It would be great if we could actually use the Passport keyboard to change the selection. That would be something useful. Right now this just looks to be buggy as heck.

    What do you think?

Has ANYONE with Passport actually thought that YES you do have a TrackPad via Software implemented under the hardware keys?!

Has anyone looked into the Settings to enable more trackpad like settings or even attempted with single tap and drag, double tap and drag, or drag or triple tap and drag?!

There is no such functionality. I did try.

Sorry I meant that this OS may not have been a mistaken yet in preparation for adding such features to be on-par with the trackpad in the future. I guess my post was misleading.

Sorry. I'm as much for calling out BB as anyone else is, but the presupposition in the title thread is simply not true. I updated the OS for my Passport and there were several changes to the OS, including an additional framing option for Android apps. I'm also one of the ones to not have any issues since the update. No flickering or any other problems.
