Depends what it had. I'm not going to pay more just to save a company that has paid enough people enough money to save it, or never let it get this bad in the first place.

But if the phone is worth my money, then yes.

i would have done, but not anymore. the abandonment of blackberry 10 and future blackberry 10 devices was the absolute last straw for me. if blackberry == android, then i != blackberry. period.

BB10 for me is worth saving. BlackBerry with no BB10 is just another Android manufacturer.

I don't know about paying more but I am planning on buying at least 4 bb10s to show support. Got my Leap last month & my Passport this month so I'm two in, two to go. Want a Z30 & a blue Classic & I'll b good to go probably.

I've was pretty opposed to Blackberry Android.
But today I was perusing around a Bell store and saw the Priv for the first time... WOW it is a pretty machine!
The display is vivid, it has BlackBerry security, and top it off a Virtual and Physical keyboard!

I am very impressed with the Priv.
So much so, I would now consider purchasing one.

I don't think paying more for a passport would save bb10. Two comments. First what might save bb10 is to pay more for programs. For example, I would pay $50 or more for a better camera app, or $20 for better facebook etc. Second, I would pay much more for a super powerful passport slider which could replace my laptop and run either bb10 or android. Can you imagine such a beast?

I understand you, but I feel a passport slider is a much better solution. Bring worlwide to android.

Don't think it matters. What would save the company or at least bb10 is selling more devices so to entice more app development.

App developers want to make money and bigger user base offers more potential.

The argument could also made that one could make more money on an app store that is less crowded, but really would only apply to smaller app dev shops trying to climb the ranks.

Big name app devs will get picked up no matter what.

I'm afraid now with Priv, BlackBerry has sped up the bleeding of bb10 platform.

As much as I want a BlackBerry Passport, I honestly won't be surprised if next year BlackBerry announces no new developments on the platform and be fully committed to Android OS or pulls out of the handset side altogether.
