Should be bb10 with a more recent and better Android runtime.

Agree, although I don't use Android apps anyway due to no permissions control. Straight-up Android..? No way.

Permission controls are available in the latest version of android which is Android M. Should be coming to the Priv shortly

    For sure!

Personally, if a version of Android was released for my current Passport I'd load it in a flash.

I'd like this option as well. However I'd prefer if they upgraded the run-time.

I would be very tempted to switch from my Priv to an Android powered Passport, I'd even consider it if the original ones get an Android update. The hardware on the Passport still is quite unique, I really enjoyed that nice 1:1 for work, browsing and reading. Of course the Priv is better for videos, but that's it. I also prefer an "always on" physical keyboard vs. a sliding one.

Just got a brand new Passport Silver edition with 10.3.2.2876 OS version. Just as I expected, it had the Android runtime inability to delete bug. It was an easy fix with the update but my point is that the update is not easy to find for a new buyer. BlackBerry should make this ART update an automatic OS update. It shows how BlackBerry have neglected bb10 in recent months. My bet is that all phones produced in the back end of 2015 have a defective ART and BlackBerry don't care. Why would I buy a PRIV style passport when they can't even look after their native OS properly

Keep the hub, gestures and tabs and i'd be OK with android. I think it's time to face the truth, bb10 is drawing its last breath and BlackBerry will never release another bb10 device. I love my SE passport but i'm starting to feel it's falling behind with the OS. The hardware is excellent, hands down.

Considering there aren't going to be new BB10 devices, it'll be a shame to see good hardware like that on the PPSE go to waste. Make it, people will buy it. Probably the crowd waiting on the Vienna.

Thanks for the info, now, where - how do I do that ART update, and, can Android be updated? An app I want says my device wont support it. It is the FLIRONE app, for a thermal image device that plugs into the micro usb

Given the option, I would load Android on my Passport in a heartbeat. If a hardware improved Passport comes on the market with Android installed like the Priv, I would buy that six month after release so I am for once not the beta tester...

Anyway, BB10 was not long term profitable life in it. Here is to hoping that Blackberry can embrace the Android platform successfully and continue to make great phones.

I tried the Priv, worked with it for 3 days till I could not take any more. Android is not the answer, for me anyway. I love my Passport SE, it's a great piece of technology, but half the reason I love it is because of BlackBerry OS10.
