Just received my red passport from DR made in Mexico. Light bleed above the e key so I see a white spot shining through and space bar soft/mushy compared to other keys.

Although just rec'd this week, the box says made in December 2014.

Screen not as bright as my classic but good enough. Otherwise all is good.

I think it's also on the sticker on the box.

OK, since we can now concluded that our Passport is all manufactured in Mexico, I guess the next thing to do is to find out who is (or are) the assigned Quality Controller(s) when our Passports are being tested...

This actually shows that Mexico Plant 6 is generally putting out good phones based on our little sample here. I have seen two from Mexico 3 with lifting screens. So if I were a prospective buyer of a Passport coming onto Crackberry for information or advice, because of this thread I would want to make sure I get a Passport from plant 6 cause I know they are good. If the Passport was from plant 3, I would be concerned about buying it.

This could help with quality control by highlighting the plants that are putting out faulty Passports.

Our sample here is small however, so this is not definitive. It's great for estimation and discussion. We cannot form hard conclusions from this right now though, not enough people have reported in.

That's weird. Why would the carton say Hungary but the device itself is stamped Mexico 6. Where did you buy it?

Hazarding a guess, maybe they replaced the QWERTY keyboard with QWERTZ/something like that in Hungary?

My sexy red, limited edition was also made in Mexico 6. No troubles so far except the screen flickering. I have some troubles with it still but have not updated it to the latest leaks yet so that might be my fault.

This thread gave me opportunity to open back cover and read the fine print on sticker. Mine is White Passport made at Mexico 6 and no hardware issues at all. Except tilt and proximity sensor have been iffy right out of box and still are irrespective of whatever OS versions I am running.

Mexico 6 seems to be a good plant so far. I have repaired two Passports so far from Mexico 3 that have had raised screen issues. Still too early to make a clear call, but so far it looks like the plants may be an issue that has been overlooked.

Remove the upper cover at the back of the Passport and you will see the plant name there. Look carefully though, the writing is tiny.
That is so great to know, thanks! Mine is also Mexico 6.

It's been working beautifully. Comparison, anecdotal, a straw in the wind: I was hiking today, weather is windy and -10C. I 'm carrying my Passport in left shirt pocket, my KeyTwo in the right, both equally exposed. The PP battery was at 67% charge this morning and I'd done a quick charge of the K2, getting it up to 64%. I keep them in aeroplane mode but used the KeyTwo for about 5 minutes. After 3 hours of this the KeyTwo had sunk to 14%, the Passport to 64%.

My old iPhone was particularly bad for losing power in the cold, much like this.

Blackberry made some robust devices. back when they made them.
