Hey, has anyone else noticed that the 'space inference' feature (where the keyboard detects missed spacebar hits) is no longer being utilized on the Passport?

Or am I just missing something? I used it all the time on my Z10.

It wasn't available on th Q10 so maybe they don't activate it on qwerty phones.

Wow, sorry to hear as it's one of the best features on my Z30. Not even after swiping up on the Passport?

No, there are no usful swipe up options if you miss the spacebar.

And I'm not going to bother quoting the guy right above me but actually it's still possible to miss the space. Less likely but still the point is why is the auto correct not there? Done on purpose I'm sure but... odd

Gonna agree with Frank on this one, how would you not notice missing a physical keypress? It gives you actual physical feedback.

And besides, why in the world would the OS interpret not pressing the spacebar key as a "miss"? That would lead to all sorts of unexpected behaviour.
Or do you mean a situation where you accidentally press VFGHJB instead of the spacebar (thus writing long gibberish instead of separate words), and the OS autocorrecting those to be a Space instead? In which case I kind of understand what you mean, but still... you don't expect your Desktop software to autocorrect accidental keystrokes for you, do you?

It's not about 'missing' it, it's about not using it on purpose because you know that typing something as easy as "heywhat'sgoingon" would be changed to 'hey what's going on" after hitting the spacebar. No different really than missing the spacebar on purpose on the touch keyboard.

I did notice that too. I thought it was maybe a glitch or something. They should have left it in. The more features the merrier.

Sounds like a feature that was designed for virtual keyboards displayed on glass. How would software predict a physical keypress?

It might be pretty essential in typing from pkb to phone display.

Double tapping the space bar right after the word immediately is what I do and works like a charm.
