If you're in Canada just get it from the carrier. Between $5 and $10.

I'm with Telus and this weekend was my first time buying a phone that wasn't from a carrier. Therefore, I had to do some research and this is what I figured out:
    - There are currently 2 nano SIMs sold by Telus. One is a NFC Nano and the other is not. Both are $10. The NFC Nano SIM currently allows you to do NFC banking with CIBC and TD. The NFC Nano is not required for regular use of the phone's NFC (i.e. for transferring photos or adding BBM contact).

I don't bank with either CIBC or TD, but I am going to grab the NFC Nano anyway since it is the same price as the regular and they might also eventually add support for my bank.

Here's the link to Telus' Nano SIMs:

It's free at AT&T if you go to a corporate owned store. Authorized dealers will charge you for them.

Correct, There's 2 types of nano sims. Secured nano sims that are Orange, Purple and Gray or regular sims that are Orange and Blue. Secured nano sims are for NFC payments apps, such as AT&T's SoftCard (formerly isis) mobile wallet app.

Get a secured sim just to be on the safe side tho since the Passport has NFC capabilities.

I'm still waiting for my nano SIM - I'm on my father in law company's contract and he needs to authorize it. Unfortunately he was out during weekend. I still don't understand it - my biggest smartphone so far and smallest SIM card ever, incompatible with my other BlackBerries. I know, Apple...

I prefer not to cut nano as it's clearly cutting contacts part, better to have the new original one.

If you are coming from a micro SIM, they cut down to a nano, without touching any of the contacts. I got a Nano from my carrier for free though.

The Nano SIM should be free if you go to a carrier owned store. In the case of the original poster, that would probably be a Rogers Plus store.

You don't have to, I didn't... anyway, you could cut part of the contact, the chip is actually much smaller in the center.

You'll also need to file the back top of the micro sim too... I just noticed that it disconnected the SIM card once I close the panel...

Yeah, tomorrow I'm going to get an official one from my carrier...
