You know what? There are millions of of BlackBerry OS users and I am certain that BlackBerry is not going to dump on them.
I assume you never had a PlayBook?

We tested 20 of them where I work out of more than 50,000 company issued smartphones! Twenty.

When we shut down our BES service finally, we cut off more than 3,000 BB7 phones. So 150 BB7 phones for every 1 BB10 phone last year. At our peak a few years ago, we had 20,000 BB7 phones.
    Work for BMO?

No, I never did purchase one, and I know what happened with it, however, there is new management. Lets just see what happens.

Yeaaaa, about that. Management is the same as before. It's John Chen, and he's doing his job. Quit being naive, he speaks the great corporate speak of large shareholders who tell him what to do. They never come out and say what the real plan is. This isn't miracle on 34th street or its a wonderful life. Think Gordon Gekko....

It really is sad that Chen did not have the skill to keep this OS going.

Having used Android and the new Windows 8.1 and 10 on tablets, I know how much better this OS has become.

This OS is priceless but management did not know how to market it. Not saying would have been easy.

Not Chen's fault the marketplace has never wanted BB10. Why throw away desperately needed cash to market something nobody desires?

Chuck, there are many that believe that no one ever learned that BB10 existed because it was not properly marketed. I am one of them.

All the returned Z10 and Q10 devices that had to be written off isn't proof? What did you want BlackBerry to market further? They pulled advertising when it was obvious people wanted Ecosystem more than OS. It's OK really...I love BB10, however I've accepted it's a commercial failure because it was 3-4 years too late. It's like selling Volvos and Saabs when everyone wants Chevys and Fords.

Since BBW is full of apps that mimic the official apps of Android/IOS, I thought of a new one based on the Waldo book. It's called........"Where's Fernando?"

He's probably over at IMore or Android Central.....

This has turned out to be a really interesting thread. Surprisingly so as it began with a post which I genuinely believed to be a good bit of Crackberry humour and turned out to be an 'honest ' vision of the future of BlackBerry.

Like many others have said I too would love the OP's dream to be possible but we can't ignore the common sense that has been shared by app_developer and Chuck Finley69 and that the demise of BB10 and BlackBerry hardware is inevitable.

I believe this was down to RIM management a number of years ago shortly after the release of the first iPhone. A combination of arrogance and lack of perception as to how the market was changing was their downfall.

I believe BB10 phones are the most productive fluid devices on the market - However what we need to recognise is that 98% of smartphone buyers are only interested in calls texts and 'Candy Crush' i.e. it's all about the App Gap.

Once the iOS and Android platforms reached a critical mass of apps the death warrant for all other platforms was signed - BlackBerry will be first and I suspect Windows Phone will be next although Microsoft is a very different company with a lot more cash.

Having said all of the above here I am writing this post on my fantastic brand new BlackBerry Passport SE and loving it - I hope for another 2 years.....please! :-)
