With Z10/Z30, etc.. if you hold the phone upright, it will record portrait, so you have to tilt it sideways to record properly.

How is this handled on Passport? Since it is 1:1 screen and the video is always playing in landscape, do you have to record by tilting or can you actually set it to always record in horizontal mode so we don't have to tilt the phone?

So you don't have to tilt it sideways to record the normal "wide screen" video. This is pretty good.
How about pictures? Do you have option to take full 1:1 pictures with Passport or does it always take sideways?

You can chose the picture size to be 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9. You can shoot vertically or horizontally. The feature I like the best is that you can use the volume buttons to take the picture or the she space bar. Hate screen buttons but this option is also available.

I like to hold my Passport horizontally and use the volume buttons. I hold it with greater stability that way snap better photos.
