I didn't like that WhatsApp was going to stop support for BB at first..but now I use BBM more than ever, and it works better for me. Some of my friends have started using it, and they really like it. The funny this is that back in BlackBerry's glory days, I had a BlackBerry, but I never really used BBM.. Anyway, I think it has the best call quality, and picks up every little sound.

if you are beholden to Whatsapp, then do what they say.

if you aren't, then do what you want.

If it's anything like this facebook app it will work for 5 minutes then never notify you of anything ever again, and for that reason I'm out.

How many people on OS10 use WhatsApp? What are the R and D costs for a workable software solution? How much will we realistically pay as individuals and is there sufficient scale of demand? Are the any structural or systemic issues that will prevent a solution?

I don't get it. What sort of solution r u talking about. Techies on the forum say that the WA servers will refuse connection to a bb10 after 2016.

One major issue is getting Whatsapp's approval for a third party app, which would be tough.

I wonder why they didn't just say to all bb10 users, yes we will keep it going, but there will be a charge of 1 per month!! Just like blackberry is doing on the android phones for the blackberry service.

Something of the sort is going to happen. This is not gonna die down that quick. Almost all the threads in the general discussion hav this.

    They did?

They brought cross platform after Whatsapp was already the market leader and then fb messenger easily followed suit. And at launch the experience was horrendous for new users.

Probably pretty good now but as before, no one uses it.

Oh you must be under the impression that Nemory asks for permission when developing apps.

True, it was glitchy as the dickens when it first came out (for ios and android anyhow..) but from what I hear it's solid on those devices.
