If you look on blackberry beta zone there is a download on there that allows pics to be sent when using the android version of what's app.

No need to doubt him. If he lives in India or one of emerging markets there is a big chance all of his pals are using BBM.

    I'm not doubting anybody.

I know BB is bigger in other countries but the majority have moved on.

No wait. WhatsApp only has like billion users and the planet has like 7 billion. If BBM would just target other 6 billion...with a petition.

Whatsapp wont support not just whatsapp but also android with lower version. That is the version our android runtime is using now. Meaning that, unless BlackBerry has a way to upgrade that runtime, then after 2016, we can use the android version. If not, it just wont work.

I wouldn't pay money for this. High chance WhatsApp is gonna ask him to remove it and then he has a valid point to get rid of it, not update it anymore and cash in lol

    But if there's a free version I wouldn't see a problem.

The BlackBerry 10 Android Runtime is based on Android Version 4.3 - Jellybean.

I give it a week before it gets abandoned, like every other app coming from there.

What is the most authentic and authorised pronouncement from BlackBerry as far as What's App is concerned? Whether we like it or not, What's App is one of the fastest, most reliable and effective communication tools in the market today. In order to stay in the race, and in vogue, BlackBerry must do something about it.

Good riddance. This whatsapp was a nuisance. Unwanted people who have your number can irritate you with texts and forwards. The worst thing was that you have to reply to their msgs cos they could see ur last seen and whether you are online. Heights of stalking. BBM is far superior and private. India is full of people who don't value their own privacy.

This is one of the best reasons for me to stick to my passport. Maybe will get another one before the stocks run out. Lol

Being a recluse / ascetic in the form of using BBM is one thing, managing one's privacy using app &/ or OS features is another.
