Hello everyone! I dont know what is happening recently with whatsapp. It says that I should update but I have afraid it will not work anymore like it should be till dec 31 2016. Any idea?

There was a post from the Whatsapp dev for BB10 that each Whatsapp release has a timer in it such that old versions weed themselves out and the user base is all on recent versions with the same features. Older Whatsapp releases for BB10 (like yours) were set to expire in October; the current available release bites the dust in January.

It should be noted that, per a WA developer, they didn't make any changes to the code between the versions except to set the expiration date for 12/31/2016 - it's otherwise the exact same version you (the OP) are running now.
Additionally, if I have understood correctly, that will then be the end of Whatsapp on BB10...
