Hello, I'm on 10.3.1.2576 official and I noticed that when in homescreen with some frames open I can press enter and the first frame 'lights' up, i.e. gets blue and a second press will open it. Now, I like it, but I can't circle between frames which sort of handicaps the feature. Anybody know anything about this? Is it a spill-over from the Classic OS tweaks, or something?
Would certainly love to have this opening frames by keyboard as a feature

huh, youre right, same thing is happening on my square/unlocked passport (same OS version as you). I would also guess that it is a classic trackpad feature - but I am surprised we arent able to use the passport keyboard to move the blue selection around.

interestingly, the same behavior is not present in the pictures app when the grid of photos are showing..

I believe it is more than 'OS handicap' issue that can be rectified with future OS upgrade rather than 'sorcery' that we need a powerful psychic medium to cast away the evil spell... unless we considered Mr. Chen a powerful psychic medium...

I find it strange that the keyboard doesn't work for swiping across home screen pages either. Or maybe it does and there's something wrong with my phone?

In the previous OTA OS, I noticed you could press on the spacebar and that would highlight the home screen shortcut area at the center bottom, but it didn't actually let you "use" it.

Seems like they have "fixed" that "bug", and replaced it with the enter key. Lol

Definitely, all they need is to decide which key to use as the trigger and selection button (space bar or enter) and then just let the touch sensitive keyboard do its magic.

On that note,.. which would people prefer? The Enter key, or the space bar?

I kinda feel like the space bar would be nice. Centrally located (no left/right handed bias), it's bigger, and when you use it to open an app like CB10, you can immediately press the space bar again to scroll to scroll down (a thread, for example).

No question the space bar is optimal in a situation like this. Space to select move around with the keyboard and space to select again.

Pretty sure it's a carry over/bug from the Classic OS integration.

Confirming it does the same thing on my Z30 from the physical keyboard. Interesting, and also interesting that the keyboard touchpad doesn't work identically to the Classic's touchpad. Just... obviously bigger.

Oh ... maybe in 10.3.2 it does, can anyone confirm?

This would only make sense if the CLDC/J2ME code was carried over for functions and job routines; yet I had thought to recall RIM stating BB10 code was written from the ground up using code from scratch (yes RIM as BB10 was already under heavy development before BB10 official launch which coincided with BlackBerry company name.

I think Bla1ze meant the current BB10 Classic code (used to make the trackpad and toolbelt 'work'). Remember that 10.3.1 was pushed first for the Classic, so they probably forgot to block comment some of those trackpad modules after they copy/pasted them into the Passport project files. Lol

And Thurask mentioned that in the 10.3.2 leak you can now pinch to zoom on the Passport using the touch capacitive keyboard... I find myself swiping horizontally on the keyboard to try and move between icon screens, so maybe they're incorporating more touch features for the Passport? Or, it's an accidental leftover from the Classic implementation of 10.3.1, lol.

Well considering you will have to reach up and tap to activate the upper left active frame anyway..... use it to your advantage and lock your most used active frame in that spot and use the double tap on the enter key to launch.
I'm shocked it works on my Z10.
I'm going to take advantage of this.

    Nice!

Edit: one long press launched whatever app is in this spot.
    I can definitely use this.
