Hey man can you help me out?

I'm so happy you got uber working, it was the only reason I would consider switching to android due to the opportunity cost of $520/year. Yikes!

Anyways I can't get it to work. I've got Google maps working in my phone but I can't patch the uber partners app. I get:

"Error: Deconpilation of package com.ubercab.driver failed, avorting"

How did you do it?

....saw a guy in Orlando airport with a BBPP and had to ask him about it and he told me to switch from my Z10 as the BBPP was miles ahead, I asked where are you from?

I have put a link in the first post so you can download them..
I just use GMaps Patcher and it does everything.

Cool, several people have had the issue of requiring an update. Seems to be a new problem, only started the last day or two. Is the app still working for you?

Yes both the apps are working..

I'll check if there is any update and patch it right away.

So, I did check for updates and there was an update for both the apps..

I patched both successfully, but Lyft app gives error "Unfortunately, Lyft app stopped working."
Uber has no issues.

I have uploaded the new versions which you can try.

Hey thanks man! Got it to work easily with your link. That's gonna save me 500 bucks a year! Gonna look into lyft now, only doing uber for the moment.

Do you tell them they have to mess with workarounds in order to get popular services, and that even then they may still not work?

I tell them that:

They can install any app that is not dependent on Google Play services and that they should work just fine.
If it does depend on Google play services then there are workarounds such as Uber and Lyft app that I am running on my phone.
This takes a few steps get it worked, and requires some patience..

So yes I do tell them.

Finally!!! My Apple passenger..

It took longer than expected.

T*m works for Apple here is how the conversation went.

How was your day?
T: good, just got off the work but public transportation is hassle.

Me: yeah public transportation is never dependable.
T: yeah, but work pays for the fare so it saves a lot of money..

Me: do you work for government?
T: no, I work for apple.

Me: that is so cool, but I have to say we stand on the opposite sides of the wall. I love BlackBerry products..
T:' I love our products but I wish we had a keyboard on our phones so we didn't type on the screen.'

Me: quickly took my passport of the charge, you have to see this.. went to the Hub showed him how the keyboard is touch sensitive he was super impressed.. showed him keyboard shortcuts in browser, 'very nice' he said. Handed the phone to him to have a feel of it but we were already at his destination..

Okay, go to the first post and click on the link, you should find version 4.0.5 of Side Car.

Note: I have not tested this and I don't know if this will work.
So let me know.

Must install GPS. And run it. Nothing will happen, but it should run in the background.

I know it has been a while since I posted a story, it was not like no one was inquiring about the phone it is just that everything was repeat and nothing new.

So today (more so last night) I picked up two passengers for a short ride with Uber.
The person who requested sat in the front.

The first thing he said as he sat was, that is a huge phone!
Me: yeah it is an amazing phone.

At the same time he pulls out his LG phone which is a phablet.
Me: look at that, and you are calling my phone huge.

He brought his phone closer to mine and all of a sudden his phone is big but Passport was still wider.

So, I took the opportunity to show him a few things..
First, swipe across the keyboard and in the dark when it lights up it is just amazing.
He goes like: that is dope.

Next up was the Hub.
He: damm that is dope, that is super cool.

Oh I had to do this one: open a text message and showed him the swipe to type.
He: that is dope, that is nice.

All this while his friend setting in the back is literally setting between us he didn't miss any of the action.

While getting off he said my next phone is going to be BlackBerry.
