What is the best moment to charge the passport battery? Do I need to drain it, or should I charge at f.e. 20%. Really curious to what is best for the battery.

    Thanks

It depends on your daily usage and requirements. If you go to bed with 20% and have a busy day following... well you may fall short. Look at your batter monitor each day for two weeks and it should give you a good indication of your daily usage.

Today I will probably use about 25% of my passport battery. So better to charge tomorrow. I also use a q10 for work, passport is a personal phone. Had a light usage day with the passport. I am curious when the best moment of charging is, also for durability of the battery.

Draining the lithium-ion batteries is not good for battery life. Always recharge when you have the chance. The battery will like being charged fully better than being drained. Basic to Advanced Battery Information from Battery University

Zero percentage some times as it gives some 40 minutes on zero percent. Otherwise below 20

Any percentage. I charge whenever I feel like it.

Why not have it 100% as much as possible.

Generally <10%. If I'm not going to be near a socket for a while I'll just keep it on 100% on my desk though. I only use it for business so it doesn't tend to be hammered as much as my iPhone.

I charge every night. It means I can hammer the PP and not worry. On the odd occasion I forget to charge, I can make a second day. You will get more life out of the battery by charging earlier. The depth of discharge determines the number of recharge cycles.

Let's clear something up. It is NOT good to short charge lithium ion batteries. Li ion batteries have a limited amount of charge cycles. Every time a charger is plugged in you use once charge cycle whether you have 90% or 5% battery remaining. It's best to run them empty and then charge them. Besides, it keeps your phone in sync with the accurate battery level reading.

I don't usually charge it until about 15-20% power remaining. No particular reason for doing that. I just try to get as much with the phone as I can between charges. At the present time, I charge my phone every other day.

Not bad considering I was charging my former power-hungry once, sometimes twice a day trying to do the same work.

I've never been one that's too concerned with batteries on my devices because I end up buying/selling and switching fairly often. I usually charge every night, unless I end the day above 50% and I try and stretch it to 2 days.

Don't worry about it, I have yet to use a device and say "Yup, should've taken better care of the battery on this one."

I charge about every other day when it hits 10% or below. I try not to charge at night unless I am below10%.

When I first got my Passport, it got down to about 25% percent after a fairly busy day away from my desk and I freaked out a little bit because I had a Council Meeting that would last at least 3 to 4 hours. Then I looked at the remaining time and it said " 7 hours remaining". Took me a while to get use to the great battery life.

Passport. Yeah it's a little weird but I love it.

As an electrical engineer, I would have to disagree. A 100% discharge will give between 300-500 charges. A 50% discharge gives 1200-1500 charges. If you charge every day from 50, or every second from 0 you will get 1200-1500 days and 600-1000 days. This shows a longer life with shallow discharge.

    Second you on this.
It's more to do with the total amount of energy passing between the electrodes. And a charge is often mistaken for a (full) charge cycle where the later refer to charging a battery from empty to full.
