If you were to attend a technology conference (as I am next week) with a thousand or so colleagues who are technology professionals, many of which are rather fanboy-ish in their admiration for their iPhones and Android flagships, what would be the one thing you would show them on the Passport that they would have no reasonable answer for with their device of choice? Not to convert them of course, but to just shut them up with a wink and a smile? I'm already starting to hear the "dude, BlackBerry?" comments from some of them on the conference's social app.

I'm making a little list in Remember of a few things so I don't forget, and thought I would get some input from other Passport owners...thanks!

If I had to Pick one feature... ummmmmm..... I would say touch sensitive keyboard for scrolling, selecting text etc.
(other notable items build quality, screen, OS hub)

The Passport is about form factor and how it displays information.

1). "What didn't you like about the Passport when you used it?"
Answer: blank stare / nervous laughter

2). "Pretend I'm one of your Users, how is your device better to meet my needs versus the one I chose?"
Answer: App this / app that (nonsense)

Expose their own ignorance and silly, puerile misconceptions when they are supposed to be a "Professional" about their industry.

I get the most satisfying response from most just by pulling out my exquisite Passport. The other platforms just don't have anything like it.

I shocked one little miss at a Source store who had just informed me that BlackBerry was a "dying breed" by pulling out my Passport. She couldn't believe she hadn't heard about it. It was a precious moment for me.

Next is the capacitive keyboard. I open up some app and begin scrolling. So far everyone is impressed.

1) The Keyboard is the main draw followed by the size of the screen. This I have learned from nearly 60 demonstrations of the device everywhere from Casinos to Airplanes to Restaurants. Young and Old they really like that physical keyboard.

1a) turn the device sideways so that the keyboard is on the right side as you're holding it. Open a large email or web page. Scroll using the keys.

2) They will complain that "you can't use this one handed". To be productive you need to focus and concentrate. One handed use is for people driving and texting at the same time. Someone's going to die. BlackBerry is all about being productive and not making mistakes.

3) They will also complain that it's too big to use as a phone (as if the iPhone 6+ and Galaxy Note are dwarves). 90% of the time I'm talking it's in the car (Bluetooth) or on Rogers (VoIP) or headset.

4) Mine has 164gb of memory in it. (Add this: SanDisk 128GB microSDXC Memory Card Ultra Class SDSDQUI-128G-A46). Let's see Apple try that?

5) NFC that works everywhere all time time; not proprietary.

6) That Keyboard. It's not just cool; It's really functional. Start searching from anywhere by simply typing. Swiping up for word prediction. The usual.

7) Android Support: Get SNAP going and get Amazon App Store going too. Have some of your own favourite Android Apps going (like OpenTable, FitBit, NEST, etc).

Ah, Blend will be a good one...I can see sitting in a session typing out texts/BBM's on my Thinkpad while my colleague is tapping texts on his little touch screen...and I'll copy a couple files to and from my Passport while I'm at it.

I like the fact that this phones can find documents and choose the app to open it with faster then any OS. I just wake up my phone and start typing keywords in a document until matches come up and BB Assistant opens up with related apps to choose from. Touch the app and it will open the document in that app immediately. iOS and Android have similar features but nothing comes close or faster then the Passport.

The BB Hub and BB assistant are the two feature I talk most about to people.

Our UI was made by professionals for professionals.
Apples ios8 was made by a five year old to keep the attention of teens by its flat colorful design.

I would show them the build and heft of the passport, there's no phone that can compare.

Blend is jaw-dropping when you get to demonstrate it: The hard part is that in a conference you'll be stuck just on the handset. If you can get out your laptop and leave your Passport exposed out in the open then you'll have the chance to demo Blend. Show them on the handset that there is a picture (or file). Then go into Blend and send THAT file to someone (like them).

I don't think you can silence a fan boi given their proper definition. Someone listening to reason? Reminding them that BlackBerry is a little more focused with less trivial things available. A new(ish) strong OS. Quality cameras and batteries that can keep up with you all day.
The passport specifically; the crowning feature would have to be the beautiful touch screen with a pkb that doubly utilizes it's real-estate in that it works to scroll without distracting from the big, beautiful screen.
Finally, the security of BlackBerry is a comforting thought in that smart phones are more like personal computers than phone these days. And in this technological world where we are putting more and more information on our phones and "out there", security is something one needs. We are all vulnerable.
And if you yourself don't come off as a fanboi and can appreciate the benefits of iphones and samsungs, (don't tell me you didn't marvel at the build and beauty of the iphone. Or that Samsung's screen's are out of this world amazing, or HTC's M8's speakers....) you can drive you're point home.

As has been said earlier, people who have invested in a negative opinion about Blackberry will never readily accept any 'reality'!

However, any one or a combination of the below should work!
- Hub
- Capacitive Keyboard
- Size and Quality of the Display
- Blend
- Battery Life
- File Management
- True multi tasking
- Elegance and fluidity of the OS
- And, of course, Security

And, it will help to prove a point if we BB folks are able to convey our views in a rational manner - and not in the 'fanboy' mode that we use to describe the iPhone & Samsung folks!

netwerx... I don't know how app-hungry you are, but definitely get some of the popular apps installed to shut them up on that whole "but blackberry doesn't have any apps" - that seems to be the most annoying complaint heard about blackberry to date...

I'd then follow up with the capacitive keyboard, using it both in portrait mode as well as in landscape mode after opening a webpage or email and then scrolling up and down, people seem to love that!

The next thing i'd demo would be the gesture based OS, people around me are usually really shocked when I swipe up to unlock, and that is just a simple task!

This is exactly my number one complaint with iOS (had to use a loaner 5C for a few weeks at work).

Then show them that attachments are displayed at the top of a message, so you never have to scroll to the bottom to see if there are any. Next, show them the ability to peek back from the document into the message to check some detail about the subject at hand.

iPhones are great, but BlackBerry is the only choice for serious work.
