    Hey,

I wanted to know what is the latest official OS for the passport?

    I have the 10.3.1.1779.

And how does the OS update work? Does it depend on my carrier? Or it only has to do with the country I am at? I mean does my carrier need to to some action in order to release the update? Or Blackberry them self send the update based on your location? As I know that different regions get the update in different times

I believe it's your carrier, unless your device was bought unlocked from somewhere, so your only other choice is an auto loader or sachesi.

My phone was bought unlocked at UK and I am not there anymore and I already got official updates. The thing is that I changed my local carrier and I am afraid they don't support Blackberry's.

You can always pull you SIM card and check for updates that way.

Try taking your sim card out and try on either data or WiFi not sure it will work but others have done this with success.

Like the OP I am looking for an updated OS for my ATT Passport. However I have had no luck installing OS updates through Sachesi.

I am on Software Release 1372 and OS 1955. Can anyone point us in the right direction?

You will have to do it auto loader if sachesi is not working, it's a destructive load so you will lose all your info and have to set up like it's a new device.

Thanks. I was hoping to do it non-destructively. I have downloaded the latest available files and followed the instructions to install via Sachesi but that didn't seem to work. Any other way to do it non-destructively?

Why did sachesi not work, you can also find Darcy tools in the stickies it's another great tool. It will do a non destructive load.

The latest official is 10.3.1.2708, software release 10.3.1.1865.
What your carrier do is irrelevant. With Sachesi you can track anywhere in the world a carrier that has released an OS version which is later than yours. Download the file and install. Sachesi install for you non destructively. That means it keeps all your data, your settings and apps. If you install via an autoloader it will wipe your phone and install a Virgin OS that has not been tested thoroughly by a carrier with the same or similar frequencies as your current carrier wherever you are..
    Hope this makes sense.

So I'm venturing into manual update land, was very seasoned in ROMs and flashing in Android. I did a little reading of differences between Software/OS/Radio versions and how things are displayed but for my unlocked AT&T Passport, I can Sachesi to the current OS version of unlocked Passport?

Anything for unlocked Passport will work for AT&T?
