I'm going to buy a used blackberry passport From an individual locally

To make sure I am not buying a problem unit , When I get the phone in my hands And start to look it over Can you please tell me what known issues should I be looking for when testing the used passport for example screen lift issues that I've read about here flickering ,wifi, etc.

Before buying it Should I run the BlackBerry virtual expert. Will this give me an Accurate indication of any problems the phone may have

Well in reality, I've had a number of Passports from the UK and none of them have had any issues. However from this forum many report screen lifting from top right corner. So check for a flush screen and ask the question. Personally I would ask if it has the official OS or a leaked version. Do usual checks of mics speakers and buttons etc. It's also worth doing an imei check via the checkmend website.

Use the BBVE, Blackberry Virtual Expert. It's an app built into the os run the test for screen, keyboard, sound and microphone. Take a few minutes but you will know if any aspect isn't working..

Make sure that the old owner has completely disabled the BlackBerry Protect anti-theft before giving you the device. You don't want to be stuck with a brick.

Don't assume the os was or is loaded properly.

Check bottom right corner of screen above the p button. Look at it from the side preferably with plenty of white background on screen. If the screens starting to lift you will see the light peering out from under the screen.

Wow. That screen lifting is concerning. Coming form a Q10 to the Passport I feel like both products are solidly constructed. Very happy with the Passport.
